CALL FOR PAPERS Special Issue on Financial Technology (Fintech) Econometrics and Statistics, Part A: Econometrics http://www.elsevier.com/locate/ecosta We are inviting submissions for a special issue of the journal Econometrics and Statistics (Part A: Econometrics) on Financial Technology (Fintech). Advances in statistical methods, business analytical tools, information technology and financial products bring a wide range of opportunities in developing fintech tools for enhancing financial services. Echoing with the digital transformation in the financial industry, more and higher variety of data are available. Transforming data into valuable assets and financial products requires multidisciplinary research and development, where econometrics and statistics play an important role in analyzing data, visualizing data patterns, building scientific models and implementing the models with modern computational methods. We welcome submissions in the following topics, but the list of topics is not meant to be exclusive: algorithmic trading, Bayesian econometrics, big data and high-dimensional econometric methods, cybersecurity analytics, deep learning, econometrics of cryptocurrencies, financial econometrics, high-frequency econometrics, machine learning in finance, robo-advising methods, risk analytics, statistical methods for artificial intelligence, text analytics, and time series analysis. We specially welcome papers that lie at the interface of econometrics and statistics. In order to be considered for publication the papers should have a significant novel component which are related to the advancement of financial technology. Papers dealing, directly or indirectly, with theoretical, computational and technical elements are particularly encouraged. Original methodological contributions inspired in applications will also be considered. Authors who are uncertain about the suitability of their papers should contact the editors. All submissions must contain original unpublished work that is not being considered for publication elsewhere.
