Abstract: Intersexuality in bovines can manifest itself in many different ways. The freemartin syndrome is one of the most common. Bovine blood hormonal concentrations and morphometric measurements from postnatal to adulthood are analyzed. Specifically, the trajectories of hormonal and morphometric variables over time in female and freemartin bovines are compared. The application of a two-sample combined permutation test provides a powerful and effective inferential method to make such comparative evaluations, by identifying the variables with respect to which the two populations differ and the time of the change point.
