Abstract: Circulant almost orthogonal arrays (CAOAs) are a type of circulant matrix used in the statistical design of fMRI experiments. D-optimality, which maximizes the determinant of the information matrix of a design, plays a key role in ensuring experimental efficiency. The presentation focuses on strength-2 CAOAs with at least three levels, emphasizing the characterization of their D-optimality. If time permits, related topics on combinatorial designs with favorable algebraic and combinatorial properties are also presented.
