Abstract: Subpopulation Treatment Effect Pattern Plot (STEPP) is introduced as a method to investigate complex interactions between Treatment effectiveness and continuously measured covariates, particularly novel biomarkers. By exploring patterns of Treatment Effect across overlapping covariate intervals, STEPP avoids the need to define subgroups based on cutoff values while enabling detection of nonlinear interaction effects.
