Title: On the two-parameter Poisson-Dirichlet process truncation error Authors:  Pierpaolo De Blasi - University of Torino and Collegio Carlo Alberto (Italy) [presenting]
Abstract: We study the asymptotic distribution of the truncation error in the stick-breaking representation of the two-parameter Poisson-Dirichlet process. First, we consider the limit distribution of a (properly centered) log transform of the truncation error and we show that it is infinitely divisible and can be described in terms of the $\sigma$-diversity of the process, thus obtaining back a result due to Jim Pitman. Second, we derive a large deviation principle for the tail behavior of the truncation error.
