Abstract: The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mathematical performance of adolescents is explored using data from the OECD's Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) in 2022. The pandemic has significantly affected the mental health and well-being of adolescents, disrupting their daily routines and educational activities. Using a three-level random intercept regression model, data is analyzed on math scores, considering variables at the student, school, and country levels. Results show differences in performance, influenced by well-known factors such as gender, socioeconomic status, and school environment, as well as the duration of time students stayed at home due to pandemic restrictions.
