Abstract: For making inferences as well as descriptive analyses in functional spaces, it is of vital importance to have a concept of order and centrality equivalent to that given by the real line. This has been studied under the framework of statistical functional depth. We provide an example of depth that satisfies the definition of functional depth. This example is based in a functional concept of symmetry and it is adaptable to different situations through the appropriate selection of a metric space.
