Abstract: Michel Talagrand won this year's Abel Prize after devoting a large part of his research life to concentrating on measure theory, a very conceptual theory that is actually very powerful when applied to machine learning problems. Following this year's great news, a general picture of this theory is given, and some tools that will be applied to a toy example are provided.
