Abstract: The experimenter might not always obtain complete information on failure times for all experimental units. In many situations, the removal of units from the experiment is pre-planned and intentional to save time and cost or free up testing facilities for other experiments. Also, due to the complexity of internal structure and external environment, it is common that the failure of a unit results from several causes of failure. These causes of failure are known as the competing risks that compete with each other in the life cycle and can be frequently encountered in various application fields, such as reliability, engineering, and lifetime study. We discuss exact inference for competing risks model with generalized type II progressive hybrid censored exponential data. We derive the conditional moment generating functions of the scale parameters of exponential distribution and the resulting confidence interval under generalized type II progressive hybrid censored competing risks data.
