Title: Joint modelling of diagnosis and survival time Authors:  Polychronis Economou - University of Patras (Greece) [presenting]
Abstract: A new model is proposed in order to jointly model the time of diagnosis of a disease and the survival time of a patient taking into account any available explanatory covariates. Since covariates such as gender, age, race etc are usually used as initial screening factor that result in accelerating or delaying the time of diagnosis, an accelerate lifetime model is assumed for the time of diagnosis. On the other hand, a proportional hazard model is adopted for the survival time. A likelihood ratio test is also presented in order to test if the survival time is independent or not on the time of diagnosis.
