Title: Optimal experimental designs for mixed categorical and continuous responses

Abstract: Experiments with mixed continuous and categorical responses that are possibly correlated are not uncommon in engineering, medical studies and many other fields. We develop optimal experimental designs for such experiments, which a joint model for both continuous and categorical responses is considered. We develop useful results that help to significantly reduce the number of candidate designs, and implement a convex optimization algorithm to search for optimal designs. The optimality of our designs is verified with the generalized equivalence theorem.
