Title: Bivariate power- and envelope distributions originating from the elliptical class

Abstract: A bivariate power distribution and its linked bivariate envelope distribution, originating from the elliptical distribution, is proposed. The marginals of the bivariate power distribution are of gamma type. Characteristics of these bivariate distributions, in particular, the density function, distribution function, and product moments are of special interest. The flexibility of this contribution is illustrated with the performance metric outage probability assuming different members of the underlying elliptical class, where the proposed bivariate power distribution may act as an alternative to existing fading models.
